True, it’s an unusual way to celebrate over 85 years of pest control experience and heritage, but we have always been an innovative company, never afraid to lead the way in proactive pest prevention…
So, what could be more proactive than eating critters before they can become pests?
Our unique ‘pop-up Pestaurant’ will be introducing the delights of BBQ Mole Crickets, Roasted-Salted Queen Weaver Ants, Sweet Chilli Pigeon Burgers and Chocolate Dipped Worms to all those brave enough to venture to One New Change in the City of London on Thursday 15th August.
Even the UN’s Food & Agriculture Organisation believes insects are a valuable food source with many insects being rich in protein, zinc, calcium and low in fat. According to UN statistics there are already over 2 billion people worldwide supplementing their diets by eating insects.
Entomophagy (the technical term for eating insects) is definitely not an established custom in European countries, where many of these creatures are seen as annoying pests. Our Pestaurant aims to celebrate the hard work that goes into keeping the UK’s pests under control and encourage people to be a little adventurous with their cuisine!
We hope that our Pestaurant will also raise awareness of the most common pests found in the UK, such as mice, rats, cockroaches, wasps, fleas and pigeons. Our experts will be on hand, ready to dish out some ‘top tips’ for avoiding pest problems and ready to answer pest-related questions you may have.
Be brave and help us celebrate all things ‘pest’ by popping along to our Pestaurant, open from 10.30am on Thursday 15th August at One New Change, London EC4M 9AF and nibbling on a Salted Weaver Ant or a tasty BBQ Mole Cricket or two!
