Rentokil announced today a new service to help Pubs, Bars and Restaurants increase their Scores on the Doors star rating. For around £1 per day* Rentokil offers up to 8 visits per year from a qualified Technician, including access to the latest Pest Prevention technologies.
Scores on the Doors is a food hygiene rating scheme set up to help the general public identify Restaurants, Bars and Pubs with good food hygiene standards. Customers are encouraged by local councils to visit the Scores on the Doors website www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk to search for restaurants, bars and pubs in their area to see what food hygiene rating they have. Each establishment is scored from 0 to 5 which indicates if it is a low or a high risk to the public if they eat there.

Effective Pest Control is a core part of the Scores on the Doors rating. Businesses cannot get 4 or 5 star rating without having a suitable Pest Control regime in place.
The aim of the new Rentokil initiative is to help proprietors achieve a higher rating by making sure they are Environmental Health Office (EHO) compliant. Rentokil offers businesses Pest Prevention Service record books which are specifically tailored to match EHO audit criteria, highlighting any risks that might impact their Environmental Health audit and Scores on the Doors rating. They can receive a free dedicated Scores on the Doors Risk Assessment Survey.
Julie Birch, Marketing Manager Rentokil UK said: "Competition for trade in the hospitality industry is tough. Consumers are much more selective now about where they will spend their money when they eat out and schemes like Scores on the Doors make it easier for them to research before they decide whether to visit. Rentokil wants to help the hospitality industry achieve higher food hygiene scores and keep customers flocking in as a result."
