Rentokil Initial PLC, one of the largest business services companies in the world, has been named as one of Britain’s Top Employers for 2013. The organisation has been accredited by the CRF Institute, based on independently conducted research. Following an assessment that examined employee benefits, working conditions, training and development, and culture management, Rentokil Initial was identified as one of a leading group of 68 companies to receive this year’s certification.
The CRF Institute, a specialist in the field of international research into workplace management and working conditions, undertakes the annual study into the workplace practises of a large number of employers in Britain.
In 2012, Rentokil Initial delivered over 8,000 days of training and launched its own in-house â€˜university’ (branded U+) to coordinate all learning and development activities. In the first year some 1120 courses were undertaken by colleagues. Colleague engagement and colleague enablement are measured independently across the company and show that levels are ahead of the global service industry standards and in some parts of the group, amongst the very best in the world. Its graduate recruitment scheme, launched two years ago, has entrants from across the Britain and continental Europe, apprenticeship schemes are undertaken within its facilities and parcels operations, and recognition schemes are in place across the group to reinforce its values of Service, Relationships and Teamwork.
