Pest Control in Peterborough

Standing on the River Nene which flows into the North Sea, some 30 miles (48 km) to the north-east, Peterborough is a place that has been settled for at least 3,500 years. What remains of its medieval layout is attributed to Martin de Vecti who, as abbot in the 12th century, he rebuilt the settlement on dry limestone to the west of the monastery (now Peterborough’s cathedral), rather than the often-flooded marshlands (Fenlands) to the east. He was also responsible for the market place and wharf beside the river, still a visible reminder of the city's past function as an inland port. Peterborough was designated a New Town in 1967, housing London's overspill population in new townships sited around the existing urban area. There were four townships planned, one each at Bretton, Orton, Paston/ Werrington and Castor. The last, Hampton only started construction in 1996 and won’t be completed until at least 2023. Peterborough’s strong economy, particularly in environmental goods and services gives it the largest cluster of environmental businesses in the UK, which sustains a large local population.

Our Peterborough team provide professional pest control services for homes and businesses throughout the city, suburbs and surrounding villages. Our local technicians, surveyors, field biologists are BPCA (British Pest Control Association) certified. With over 125 years of experience between them, they have knowledge, expertise and resources to provide the most effective solution to your pest problem.

Peterborough Pest Control Services

The Peterborough Millennium Green Wheel is a 50-mile (80 km) network of cycleways, footpaths and bridleways providing safe, continuous routes around the city with radiating spokes connecting to the city centre. This local landscape also features mini woodlands, ponds and hedgerows. These idyllic open spaces can offer refuge and harbourage to vermin like rats and mice, as well as a source of food for them and pest birds. Rodents will also make use of nearby gardens, lofts, sheds and basements to move quickly between properties in search of food.

Locals and visitors alike are catered for by a variety of hotels, restaurants, cafes, bistros, pubs and bars. These establishments and those who frequent them can inadvertently offer a source of food scraps for vermin such as rats and mice, cockroaches, pigeons and flies.

Rats and mice are scavengers that survive in urban and suburban areas from Chesterton to Orton Waterville, that can offer them easy food and shelter. Rodents are omnivorous, eating anything from contents of refuse and compost bins and discarded left-overs to fruits in gardens and parks and food in our homes if they get in. If you’ve seen signs of rats or mice the safest and most effective way to get rid of rodents is by professional, targeted treatments.
