Other wildlife management

In the UK we are lucky to have a varied environment, rich in wildlife. There are however times when elements of our wildlife can come into conflict with people and property. When this does occur the problems that wildlife can pose vary from damage to the fabric and structure of buildings to harming crops and plants. On rare occasions they can pose a health risk.

Rentokil can offer some useful tips on wildlife management to help you try and deter and exclude animals such as badgers, squirrels, rabbits, foxes and voles, which can potentially cause damage to your property and grounds. We also offer DIY Products for garden pests such as slugs and snails.

Whilst we maintain the highest levels of pest risk management for our customers, we always remain acutely aware of the many non-target species among our urban and rural wildlife. As unique elements of our natural world these creatures often require conservation, and many species in the UK are protected to varying degrees by legislation.

Rentokil’s Wildlife Management Services

We are involved in the sensitive control of animals such as rabbits and grey squirrels under strictly regulated conditions.

  • All employees involved in these control operations are specifically qualified to the highest standard.
  • Treatment is only ever undertaken after a through site survey by experienced senior staff.
  • We also set our own standards for the management of other mammals such as fox and mink.

Some wildlife species that people may consider a pest under certain circumstances are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Creatures such as Bats, Badgers, Water Voles and Red Squirrels are all legally protected in the UK.
